Khalid Kareem

Committed 6/24/2015

Position: Defensive End

Hometown: Harrison, Michigan

Stars: 5

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 260 lbs

Athletic Measurables:

Khalid Kareem at 6’4″, 260 pounds puts him at the size for a college pass rusher, but at 6’4″, 270, that puts him in the size category to become a dominant collegiate pass rusher. Kareem really runs well for his size and has that good initial quickness off of the ball, something someone his size will use to his likeness at the next level.

Instincts & Technique:

Kareem is one of those players who just seems to do so much right and is ahead of the rest in his skill progression. He is very good with his hands and using his long arms to create a good separating punch. He is that “don’t stop until the whistle blows” type of player, he will chase the ball carrier until the end which allows him to make the play. The high-energy, high effort guy is who Khalid Kareem is. His first step is great and doesn’t sit back and wait for the ball carrier, he moves upfield and gets the ball carrier. He plays at a physicality level at the point of attack that will only grow as he gets another year under his belt and builds his strength even more and when he gets to Tuscaloosa he could end up being an immediate impact.

Strengths & Weaknesses:

Strengths: Khalid Kareem is great at the point of attack and has great hands, he really is advanced in his game compared to others in this 2016 class, meaning he is well-coached. Also has a good first step and will give 100% on every play.

Weaknesses: He is not an elite edge rusher, but could be. his best fit would be at a 3-technique. He needs to get used to not going unblocked like he does now.

Reminds me of:

With his size, length and aggressive play, Kareem reminds me of a near replica of former Alabama defensive lineman and current Arizona Cardinal Ed Stinson.
