Former Crimson Tide defensive back Landon Collins is set to return to action for the first time since August 14th. Collins sprained his MCL in the preseason opener against the Beagles and has been out of action ever since.

“I feel great, ready to get back on the field,” Collins said, and most of the Giants coaching staff agree and expect to see the former All-American play Saturday night against the Jets. Collins went on to say “I was worried about how long I’d be off the field. That’s where I love to be. I hate to be off it.”

Collins will get what he wants after returning to the practice field on Wednesday. He will get the much needed reps that rookies need to continue to improve on the field and on game days.

Collins has been projected by many to become the new starting safety for the Giants after both of starting safeties from last season Antrel Rolle and Stevie Brown left in free agency.
